Meet Sammy SweetSpirit
“The more we know about each other, the more we know about ourselves.” - Sammy
Sammy SweetSpirit is an author, motivational speaker, accessibility consultant, and singer/songwriter who has been blind since birth. Her album, Something For Everyone, was released to digital music stores in 2019. Her powerful message in her book Look At It This Way, invites us to have a clearer understanding of people who are blind, and a deeper experience of connecting with each other.
Alongside the wisdom of Neale Donald Walsch and Byron Katie, Sammy is a wonderful advocate for anyone seeking to connect with themselves as well as the world. Fearless and fun, empathetic and passionate, she will keep you interested in all that she has to share.
Who is Sammy?
Why do you want to help people?
Our world and the people in it need a lot of attention right now, and humans ultimately yearn to feel connected, to feel heard, and understood, and that's where I feel I come in. Serving others feels natural to me, it’s just what I’ve always done both consciously and subconsciously.
If there was only one message you could communicate to the sighted, what would it be?
We are all one. Blind people may do things in a different way, but we don't get different results.
What is your favorite food?
Sushi and Poke. I love all kinds of food though. I have way too many favorites.
If you could share a meal with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Aaliyah, Prince, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, Weird Al Yankovic, Neale Donald Walsch, Byron Katie, Eckhart Tolle. The underlying theme here is the level of critical thinking and deep philosophical intellect, as well as the humanitarian efforts that each person possessed/possesses. I would love nothing more than to pick each of their brains!
Who is Sammy?
A sweet spirit who cares about others. I'm very passionate, empathetic, funny, and witty, and I feel very deeply.
